Jody Singleton for Henry County Probate Judge
and Commission Chair
Announcement of Candidacy
"First, I would like to thank you again for your prayers and support during my recent candidacy for State Representative. I appreciate you so much! Representative Grimsley has been working hard for us in Montgomery and if elected, we will be working closely with him to continue to enhance Henry County and its opportunities. That candidacy also allowed me the opportunity to build numerous relationships at the local, state, and federal levels that could prove invaluable when working and negotiating for Henry County's future accessions," said Jody Singleton.
Singleton stated, "On August 18th, I met with the Henry County Republican Executive Committee at Jimmy's Barbeque in Abbeville and asked for their approval to seek the Republican nomination for Henry County Probate Judge and Commission Chair. After many questions and much conversation, I received their approval and support. Since then, I have been working to prepare myself, and my skill-sets, to make the People of Henry County proud. After much prayer, preparation and encouragement, I am both honored and humbled to officially announce my candidacy for the office of Probate Judge and Commission Chair of Henry County. I take this candidacy and its responsibility very seriously and humbly ask for your support."
Singleton, a life-long resident of Henry County, is a 1986 honor graduate of Headland High School, 1987-88 George C. Singleton, if elected, plans to use this experience to best serve the constituents of Henry County by working to expand the opportunities available here both now and for our future generations.
In addition to his professional life, Jody is an active member at Headland First Baptist Church. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Amy, and they have three children: Hunter, Caroline, and Caitlin. He is an avid outdoorsman and stays involved in local and collegiate athletics. When asked what he plans to do if elected, Singleton made the following statements:
"The Probate Judge is the chief custodian of the county's records and its assets, including its funds. The commission chair provides leadership and sets the agenda for the commission meetings and works with the elected commissioners to prioritize and conduct the county's business. There is no doubt that our nation, our state, and our communities are enduring difficult times, and Henry County is no exception. But with adversity comes opportunity. My experience as a father, a CPA, a businessman, a council member, and recent candidate for State House of Representatives has uniquely prepared me to tackle those opportunities. The Probate Judge / Commission Chair is paid a lot of money and, if elected, I intend to give the people of Henry County an excellent return on their investment! "
